“Training for honey producers”, 5 November 2017 in Brcko, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Around 140 participants participated in the traning for honey producers organized by the Standing Working Group for Regional Rural Development (SWG) in SEE, within the project “Rural development through integrated forest and water resources management in Southeast Europe: Rural perspectives: qualification, reintegration and (self) employment”, financed by the German International Cooperation (GIZ). The training was organised in cooperation with the NGO „Udruženja pčelara „MATICA“ Brčko distrikta BiH“ and was held at the Faculty of Economics Brčko – University of I. Sarajevo on the 5th of November 2017.


The participants had the opportunity to discuse on the following topics:

  • “Organized production of royal jelly”, presented by Mr. Ferid Velagic;
  • “Basic biology principles of bee colonies for more efficient productivity” and “Varroosis and viruses – devastating combination for the bee’s community”, presented by prof. Nada Plavsa;
  • Examples of good practices during a training for honey producers, presented by dr. Miodarg Vasic.
