The Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South-Eastern Europe within the SWG project: “Strengthening regional capacities for rural development through integrated forest and water resources management in Southeast Europe (LEIWW)” will support the organization of the event “44th Rajac Scythe Festival”, which will be organized by the Tourism Organization Ljig in the period of 15 – 17 of July, 2016.
Rajac Scythe Festival is an international tourism event which symbolically represents the Serbian countryside tradition related to mowing mountain grass by hand and celebration of completion of this important seasonal work.
The event takes place every year from Friday to Sunday after 12th July. It is rich in various cultural, artistic and sports activities. The central event is an international competition of the best mowers. It is the unique and the largest cup competition in the world that gathers winners from local and regional mowing contests.
