The 4th Stakeholder’s group meetings of cross-border regions were held on the 6th of June in Ilok, Croatia – for the“Drina-Sava” SHG.
These were the last working meetings of the SHG-s within the project: “Preparation for Implementation of the Area Based Development (ABD) Approach in the Western Balkan”.
In general, the following three topics were discussed:
- Finalization of Baseline study and Strategic Framework
- Discussion on the operational functionality of the SHG-s
- Endorsement of priority project ideas
The main objective of the 4th meeting of the Stakeholders Group of the “Drina-Sava” cross-border region was the presentation of the draft strategic framework and the action plan for regional cooperation for implementation of the ABD in the target area and formal acceptance of the documents by the Stakeholders Group (SHG).
Beside the information on the progress made so far, the participants discussed about possibilities for further facilitation and support to the area based development in this pilot region through analysis of the presented/proposed implementing structure, the needs of the Stakeholder`s Group (SHG) (structure, responsibilities, operations, finances) and the Memorandum of Understanding among the participating Municipalities for implementation of ABD in the region of “Drina- Sava”.
At the same time, the participants proposed some ideas related to setting up working/interest groups and one SHG facilitator for the follow up and facilitation of further activities. In the forthcoming period SWG Head Office/Secretariat will begin with development of the project proposals based on the prioritized project ideas/concepts in close coordination with the appointed contact persons.
