The Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South-Eastern Europe, within the SWG EC project “Fostering regional cooperation and balanced territorial development of Western Balkan countries in the process towards EU integration”, will support the organization of the regional manifestation “Roses of Lipolist” which will be organized in the period of 16-18 June 2016, by the Tourist Organization of the City of Sabac.
The regional event promotes regional tourism, with an accent on encouraging the economic development of the region and its rural population, by promoting natural, cultural and traditional values through promotion of expansion of production from roses as a great potential of the cross-border region ”Drina-Sava”.
The manifestation is organized each year by the end of June and is a three-day manifestation. It starts with the announcement at the pedestrian zone in Sabac, through distribution of promotional material and roses. On the same day, in the evening, on the main square in Sabac, music concerts, in order to promote the festival, are organized. On the second day, in the ethno village of painter Slobodan Topalovic and in the yard of the family Marinkovic, musical and poetic evening dedicated to the art and tradition will be organized. The main day of the festival is Saturday, when competitive flower show, exhibition and sale of plants, agriculture, souvenirs and domestic products will be organized. During the entire festival members of the stakeholder group from the cross-border region ”Drina-Sava” will participated.
The impact of the event is reflected in the economic benefit for the participants that will have the opportunity to sell their product during the organized fair.
Main expected results are:
- Promotion of the event, the city of Sabac, rural tourism and the cross-border region “Drina- Sava”
- Encouraging the economic development of the region and its rural population.
