International Belgrade Tourism Fair under the slogan “Where you have not been yet” was held for the 38th time at the Belgrade from 18 to 21 February 2016. This year’s partner country was Slovenia where 53 countries took part with 1,153 exhibitors that attracted a record number of visitors.
The Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South-Eastern Europe within the European Union funded project: “Fostering regional cooperation and balanced territorial development of Western Balkan countries in the process towards EU integration” supported the organization of the manifestation: Presentation of traditional products from cross-border regions “Drina-Tara” and “Drina-Sava” at the Belgrade Tourism Fair 2016. The presentation was focused on the “Mountain breakfast” concept which was organized by the Regional Development Agency Zlatibor, Uzice from 18th till 21th February 2016 in Belgrade, Serbia.
The aim of this initiative was to gather and present representative traditional products from Cross-Border regions “Drina Tara” and “Drina- Sava” at one place – stand of the Tourism Organization of West Serbia.
Main even, tasting of authentic, traditional local products and meeting between representatives of the HoReCa Sector and potential suppliers was organized on Friday, 19 February. The guest were welcomed by Mr.Slavko Lukic, director of Regional Development Agency Zlatibor. Opening specch was held also by Mr.Boban Ilic, SWG Secretary General who stated that SWG will in the future support these initiatives with the aim to contribute to increased cross border cooperation and promotion of producers, traditional products and events. Degustation of Mountain breakfast – combination of traditional dishes was prepared by Hotel “Mona”, Zlatibor.
During the fair, visitors could taste and buy products of 12 producers from cross border regions “Drina-Tara” and “Drina-Sava” that presented at the fair: Tourism Organization of Ilok – Srijem Vine claster, Ilok Croatia; Agricultural household Marinkovic, Sabac Serbia; Cooperatives Brka, Brcko District, Bosni and Herzegovina; Agricultural household Macanovic, Pljevlja, Montenegro; Agricultural household Pesic, Bijelo Polje, Montenegro; Association of beekeepers, Visegrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina; Fenix-slatka kuca, Zlatibor, Serbia; Agricultural household Aleksandar Ristis, Uzice, Serbia; Goat farm Doskovic, Prijepolje Serbia; Jekoslav Puric- Agro Zlatar, Nova Varos, Serbia; Varosanka, Nova Varos, Serbia; Poterry producers Sunjevarić, Zlakusa, Serbia.
Mountain breakfast is quality certification trademark, designed with the aim to use braiding of local traditional products and other resources for specialization of tourism offer and to create recognizable image of the Western Serbia tourism destination.
