“Green Actions, Earth Day Every Day in Mali Zvornik!” 19 May, 2016 Mali Zvornik (Serbia)

The Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) in South-Eastern Europe with local stakeholders from the “Drina-Sava” stakeholder Municipality Mali Zvornik, NGO “Kancelarija za mlade Mali Zvornik”, NGO “Eko Drina Zvornik” and HE Mali Zvornik organized cleaning action under implementing pilot measures named “Green Actions, Earth Day Every Day!” for integrated solid waste management in a cross-border context. The action was organized to raise public awareness of the problem of waste floating in the river Drina and classifying types of waste which is located on the coast.

On this occasion around 20 volunteers collected waste categorize and enter information in the mobile application Marine Litter Watch floating debris and potentially floating waste from the banks of the river Drina on location Ponton.

The event is supported within the project “Solid Waste Management in cross-border rural and coastal areas of South Eastern European region”, implemented on behalf of the Regional Rural Development Standing Working Group (SWG) and NALAS, in support of GIZ Open Regional Fund for South East Europe – Modernization of Municipal Services (ORF MMS). Coordination of pilot environmental actions in the Cross-Border region related to facilitation of ABD approach in the cross-border region “Drina-Sava” with financial support by the European Union.
